I am pumped!

A while back, a friend had encouraged me to volunteer at a small event in Vancouver called West Fest. The event, West Fest, served as a kick-off event to Free The Children’s stronger presence in the west via their new office in downtown Vancouver. Volunteering at West Fest was so exciting. Although the venue was small, it was packed full of such dedicated people who wanted to make a change. That, to me, was just so empowering.

Now that FTC has much more of a presence in Vancouver, they are also holding the first ever We Day Vancouver here at GM Place on September 29, 2009. For those who are not in the loop, We Day is like this half-concert, half-youth empowerment event where everyone becomes engaged and the presenters talk about key ideas alongside performers who liven up the whole experience. Because I have volunteered with them in the past, I was invited to volunteer again – and without any hesitation, I signed up.

We Day Vancouver 2009 is only a few days away and I am stoked to be part of such a major event – with roughly 16,000 attendees and millions more viewing via live stream, I am proud to be helping with something that will inspire so many people, ranging all from enthusiastic young children to more mature adults.

If you are attending, I look forward to be sharing this exciting experience with you. If you aren’t, please take the time on September 29th, to visit CTV’s We Day website. As far as I know, the link to watch it is: http://watch.ctv.ca/we-day-2009/. If it doesn’t work, please check CTV’s We Day Page for more info.
